WINDOW TINT REMOVAL
Window tint removal is the process of removing window tinting that is peeling or flaking off, or is no longer wanted and needed. To replace old window tint with new window tint, the existing window tint will need to be removed in order to replace it with an even and smooth finish that isn’t compromised by uneven layers of old tint. We provide window tint removal services that are able to accommodate and adequately remove all old or deteriorating window tint to promote the longevity of new window tint applications.
Removing Old Window TintThere are a few ways to remove window tint, but the method chosen is often dependent on what kind of window tint you have, the degree to which it is deteriorating – if at all – and on what kind of window or area it is attached to. For window tint removal on cars, we’re able to approach removal with easier solutions such as steaming or tint softener that makes it quicker to peel and remove as a whole. For other types of windows that have different tints, such as residential or commercial windows, there is much more of a process involved in order to reach the windows, remove tint from all sides of the windows, and ensure that there is no tint on windows that are double-paned.
Peeling Window TintIf your window tint has begun to peel and it is not that old or you haven’t gotten as much use out of it, it could simply require some adhesive to attach it back to the window itself. If the window tint is peeling and it’s rather old and time for some new window film, then removal and reapplication is usually recommended. Once window tint has begun to peel, it will continue to do so after more usage and exposure to outdoor elements, so it’s best to address it before it worsens.
Minimizing DamageAttempting to remove window tint on your own can result in injury to yourself or damage to the glass that you’re removing tint or film from. Since window tint is applied and sealed onto glass securely and intended to not be easily removed, you can quickly damage or scratch the glass by using removal tools that are unconventional and not designed for tint removal. Instead, we use professional tools and solutions that quickly and easily remove window tint, in full, and minimize the damage that could otherwise be caused to your glass. Damaged glass is much more difficult to add tint to, so it’s best to avoid adding cracks or scratches to it for future use.
CleaningOnce the window tint has been completely removed, we will then clean the area and remove any excess pieces of window tint that might linger or leave behind residue on the glass itself. Cleaning the windows is an important step to removing and adding new window tint or film, simply because overlapping layers of tint can cause uneven or rigid surfaces and alter the appearance and integrity of the tint itself. Window cleaning is quick, easy, and done in between removal and new applications with expert cleaning solutions that we’ve tested and used for many years with continued success.
